Cordogan's
has vertical pianos that have been made in every corner of the globe,
ranging in quality level from that which will comfortably get a
student started with lessons to the highest performance pianos on
the planet. While new vertical pianos have retail prices beginning
in the $3000 range, Cordogan's often buys bulk quantities which
results in sale prices much lower than any of our competitors can
offer.
"What
is the price range of pianos?" is a question we hear
all of the time. Our answer: "free, on up!" Price
ranges of used vertical pianos is a difficult topic to briefly
discuss, given a couple hundred years of production from thousands
of manufacturers. We are Illinois largest piano store because
we offer the best value for your money on EVERY instrument we
sell, without the gimmicky advertising,
misinformation or high pressure sales
tactics that unfortunately often taint piano purchases.
If you
are in the Chicagoland area, please feel free to call
our Geneva location for information that will
help you to learn more about the different manufacturers, their
reputations, who makes what brands, etc. The piano industry is
a tangled web of brand names, all stemming from a very small number
of manufacturers -- including many recognizable American brand
names that actually have far less American involvement than what
you might think or aren't even made anywhere near America.
If
you live outside of Illinois and are shopping for the
perfect used instrument, Cordogan's can still help you! We deliver
pianos regularly across North America and internationally, too!
Even though our used inventory pages
represent only a fraction of what's in stock, please visit those
pages to gain an idea of price ranges. Keep in mind that the price
ranges include necessary items and services which are often left
out of the "used car" type advertising you might see
in the papers or on the web. We don't charge for a piano bench
(which would be like charging for the remote that comes with the
TV) and you won't see absurd delivery charges that are clearly
profit centers, intended to make up for what started as an attractive
price!
Call or email us for
more information about any used piano we have in stock. If you're
looking for a specific brand of used piano, such as Steinway,
Baldwin, Yamaha, Kawai or Mason &
Hamlin, contact us and we'll let you know what we have in
stock within 24 hours. If we don't have what you're looking for
NOW, you can add your name to our database and we'll contact
you when it comes in.
The piano industry has evolved dramatically since 2000, with the
influx of countless inexpensive pianos from China and Indonesia.
Even familiar American brand names such as Steinway and Baldwin
have resorted to selling Chinese pianos under their corporate
umbrella. Sometimes, the dealers honestly disclose this fact.
Sometimes they don’t. Baldwin goes so far as to stamp “A
product of Baldwin U.S.A.” on some of their grand pianos,
which can be quite confusing to a consumer!
This isn’t to say you do or don’t wish to purchase
such a piano, but to become knowledgeable about WHAT you’re
buying is why you’re here. We’re here to help. An
accurate explanation of the various manufacturers can be most
helpful to the new piano buyer. With our wide selection of new
& used pianos, our knowledgeable staff and an excellent reputation
since 1950, Cordogan's is confident you will have a pleasant experience
at our showrooms and that you will
feel very comfortable with your purchase -- knowing you received
the best value for your money.
If you are in search of the perfect used piano, Cordogan's maintains
an amazing selection of used pianos by Kawai,
Steinway, Yamaha,
Baldwin, Knabe, Chickering,
Sohmer, Mason & Hamlin and
countless other brands. The "looks like new, but priced like
used" pianos are Cordogan's specialty, generating customers
from all over the country. Our warranties are generous! Check
our used inventory pages to see what's in stock and purchase with
us online!
